Here are some recommended local pubs and websites, all either friends of mine or places I recommend. The Stoneworks, a brand new craft beer bar in the town centre (Pboro's only dedicated craft bar). If you don't like keg/keykeg craft ales, this place certainly isn't for you. Opened with 14 taps, and is planning to increase to 22. Two farmhouse ciders on tap, also wines and a decent gin selection. More here. 8a Church Street, PE1 1XB Peterborough
The Bumble Inn, Pboro's newest real ale pub and first? modern micropub, opened 2016 in the town centre, already a very popular watering hole. More here. 46 Westgate, PE1 1RE Peterborough.
Hand and Heart. My local and Peterborough CAMRA 2015 Pub of the Year. A little further away than the town pubs, but well worth it. Always a great range of ales in this traditional and historic pub. Hidden away gem, put up for sale by Enterprise Inns so under threat! 12 Highbury Street, Peterborough, PE1 3BE.
The Ostrich Inn, one of the few Pboro central town pubs worth a visit. If you ever visited Bogarts, its the same site, just with a brand new interior, and decent toilets! Now has both real ales and craft taps. 17 North St, Peterborough PE1 2RA
Palmerston Arms. A great proper local which gravity serves beers the way they should be. 82 Oundle Rd, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire PE2 9PA.
Coalheavers Arms. Another great pub which runs many of its own beer festivals, which are always packed out. Now serves craft keg too. 5 Park Street, Peterborough PE2 9BH. 01733 565664
The Ploughman, Werrington. Jump on the number 1 bus to Werrington centre to find this pub and enjoy their many real ales (at great prices). Big supporter of local charity and beer festivals. Staniland Way, Werrington, Peterborough, PE46NA
Charters Pub - barge pub the other side of the river bridge, so a very close Oakham ales pub. Good (Oakham) beer selection, great beer garden. A great place to go between afternoon and evening sessions. PE1 1FP
The Drapers Arms. Weatherspoons which is one of their top 5 real ale selling pubs across the entire UK Chain. Cheap breakfasts and good selections of real ales at low prices. Very close to the train station. 29-31 Cowgate, Peterborough, PE1 1LZ
The Brewery Tap - the 2nd Oakham ales pub in Peterborough. Great Thai food, mostly Oakham ales, including three cold keg beers. As good as a station pub now. 80 Westgate, Peterborough, PE1 2AA
Bexar County Brewery. A growing craft brewery right here in Peterborough. You can find some of their exciting beers here at the festival. 'Texas' Steve is bringing American craft beers to the Boro!
Xtreme Ales. More brewing friends of mine, knocking out beers which are going down a storm at many festivals.
Castor Ales. Head brewer Duncan is a big local footy support (Up the Posh!), and his modern beers reflect local history.
Bakers Dozen, head brewer Dean also is Landlord at the great Jolly Brewer pub in Stamford. Brewing straight out of Ketton.
